Big Tooth Maple

Tom's has a limited supply of bigtooth Maple. These are trees that are native to Bandera County Texas. These trees have beautiful fall colors and grow in high alkaline soils . We hope to prove them on the South Plains. I expect them to do well, but currently can't point to any existing ones in the area.

I bought some Big Tooth Maples in April 2011. I brought them back to Lubbock and planted them. Last year with the drought they didn't color up to well in the fall, and lost most of their leaves due to scorch. They survived though. This year, they are looking much much better. Two trees have even produced seeds.
